Rain or shine, Georgetown, Texas, is determined to keep the yearly honky-tonk tradition going, and for good reason, it’s always a hit. The Two Step Inn Festival is a Texas tradition that brings together all country-music-lovers to enjoy live music and great food with good company. Although gray clouds fill sky the for this year’s festival, the spirit of the masses and their love of music prevail.
Despite the morning rain and chilly gusts of wind, Georgetown fills to the brim with those who enjoy a fiddle and acoustic guitar. The general admission line radiates anticipation from the Two Step Inn Festival attendees who are beyond excited to see their favorite artists live while enjoying a cold brewski with a plate of sizzling tacos. The mud is annoying, and the brisk air is bothersome while waiting in line, but once the wait is over, the day’s conditions simply add character to the overall experience.
Crowds of friends and family flood into the festival and are welcomed by the Big River stage where famous country artists such as Kaitlyn Butts and Miranda Lambert play their top hits as well as underground songs from their discography.
A sea of cowboy hats occupy the entirety of the crowd, and the mud is no longer an annoyance but rather an accessory to the boots worn by every single attendee.
Stationed to the left of the entrance is the merchandise table and beyond graphic-tees, jargon, and logos there is more to see as sonic fills the air. Two other massive stages take up each corner of the festival while booths selling food, drinks, and knick-knacks occupy the center of the San Gabriel Park.
Country music can arguably be described as an acquired taste., bBut just like any other music genre, there is a community that forms around it, and this festival is a testament to that communal spirit.

Catching Texas native, William Beckmann, play on the Pony Up stage gives a sense of pride to all Texas-born attendees. The Del Rio country singer holds his guitar with great confidence as he plays some of his top hits such as “Bourbon Whiskey” and “Tennessee Drinkin.’” William’s velvety vocals charms the crowd and surely attracts some new fans to his already-growing fanbase.
The beauty of music festivals falls in the fact that people can quickly go from listening to their favorite chill artists to the artists who get their hearts pumping.
Artists such as Treaty Oak Revival and Priscilla Block bring crowds filled with endless amounts of energy. Treaty Oak Revival’s very own, Sam Canty, drenches the front row of his crowd with beer — a signature act that happens at their shows. Priscilla Block dances around on stage with her fully bedazzled cowgirl boots and waves around her signature black and blond hair. The vivacious country singer has the crowd singing and dancing along to her tunes while a buzz of energy remains well past showtime.
Smiles form across faces as their favorite artist takes the stage, cans of beer clink as friends celebrate the coming of the weekend, and kids run around enjoying the open space of the park. Joy radiates through each and every person because they are surrounded by people who share a love for all things country.
The Two Step Inn Festival will, undoubtedly, be marked as one of Texas’ 2025 highlights. Their yearly occurrence strengthens Texan pride and invites all to indulge in the southern drawls of country music from all over the U.S.
