Tip 1: Watch the Sunset from Knob Hill Park
Whether you’re looking for romance or just some quality family time, head to Knob Hill Park around dusk and you’re guaranteed a show! There’s also a repurposed trolley for kids to play on. “Knob Hill Park has amazing views and is a fantastic space,” says resident Aimee F.
Tip 2: Hit the Pool
The pool at The Union is a beautiful spot to float on those hot summer days. “Our favorite spot is the pool,” says resident Alyssa A. “It’s a natural center for socializing and meeting new neighbors.”
Tip 3: Don’t Miss the Food Truck Nights
The community comes together several times a month for local food trucks at The Union. “All the eclectic and unique elements that make Austin an attraction are here,” says resident Mario P. “We’re an outdoorsy community, pet-friendly, a health-and fitness focused community. All those elements are built into Austin. Then there’s the trail system that’s going in, plus all the outdoor events like food trucks and movie viewing and outdoor activities.”
Tip 4: Music in the Park is a Must
If you love live local music, Music in the Park brings great bands to The Union each month. Best of all, it’s free and open to the public. “Our favorite thing is Music in the Park,” says resident Brittany C. “It’s a one-of-a-kind experience—you have this beautiful pool, kids are running around and jumping in pillows and dancing, there’s a food truck and bartenders! It kind of reminds me of a family-friendly downtown experience. We would have friends who would joke and say why go downtown?! I’ve got my live music and bar right here!”
