A quaint boutique hotel grants visitors access to Florida’s beaches, coastal dune lakes, and more beautiful natural spaces along the Emerald Coast.
Why Book:
Located in Santa Rosa Beach on Highway 30A (for which it’s named), The Lodge is a charming new addition to this sleepy beach town. Visitors will find many walkable destinations from their centrally-located temporary abode, and easy highway access makes it possible to visit all the beach communities that line this little slice of heaven, as well as visit the storied small towns just to the north.
The Scene:
Florida’s panhandle offers miles of sugar-white beaches, but perhaps more interesting to adventurers are the rare coastal dune lakes that dot the region. The Lodge is located in Walton County which is home to 15 unique water features which can only be found elsewhere in the world in far-off coastal communities such as Madagascar, Australia, New Zealand, and Oregon. With both the ocean and lakes available, savvy surfers, enthusiastic boaters, and stand-up paddleboard savants alike can find the perfect aquatic activity to suit their taste. For those who have not quite found their sea legs, this scenic bike-friendly area lends itself to leisure rides with remarkable views. Next door to The Lodge, YOLO offers bike rentals to make access an ease.
The Accommodations:
Stepping into the lobby, visitors are met with a mélange of subdued hues and beachy textures, inspiring them to take a deep breath and relax. The calming vibes of the lobby extend into the private spaces of the individual rooms. The spacious suites at The Lodge invite travelers into the cozy comforts of home with a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and dishware, making it easy for those wishing to stay a while. The pool is a quiet oasis for those times when peace is the priority, and the fitness center is fully outfitted when it’s time to blow off some steam. While there is no on-site dining, The Perfect Pig is within easy walking distance for a laid-back breakfast, and local restaurants such as Old Florida Fish House and Fish Out of Water are nearby for lunch and dinner plans. Additionally, guests have the option of adding access to Watersound Beach Club to their stay, an exclusive perk that is unavailable to other visitors. At Watersound, guests can enjoy the private beach, luxurious pools, and beach view dining options that usually require full membership to access.
