Tiny But Tasty Eateries
Small spaces that serve big flavor
Words by Sam Lauron
It’s true when they say that the best things come in small packages. While these restaurants may be smaller in square footage, their food proves that space is clearly not an issue.

Spartan Pizza
One can never go wrong with pizza. For a quick slice, consider adding Spartan Pizza into the rotation. The menu at Spartan features pizza, sandwiches, and salads, all sticking with the Greek mythology theme. Take the Zeus, for instance, which includes roasted garlic oil, fresh spinach, fresh tomato, crispy bacon, and fresh milk mozzarella. While there aren’t any tables inside, patrons can simply pull up a seat at the counter and enjoy a slice, or order a pizza for delivery or carry out.

Austin Daily Press
With a history that began with a food truck, it’s no wonder that ADP continues to thrive in small spaces. Known for their inventive sandwiches and beloved J-Pups (jalapeno hush puppies), ADP serves up tortas, salads, tacos, and small bites from their two East Austin locations. Order at the walk-up window and enjoy dining al fresco on the patio seating offered at either location.

The Bee Grocery
In addition to snacks, drinks, and household products, The Bee Grocery is also home to a lesser known dining hot spot. The urban grocer offers a selection of freshly made Vietnamese dishes like pho, bahn mi, and spring rolls that can be ordered at the counter and enjoyed there or taken to-go. Pop in for lunch or dinner to enjoy these classic Vietnamese meals, or visit in the morning for a fresh baked good and a cup of coffee.
