The Best Bubbly Cocktail to Ring in 2023
A Texas Twist on a Classic Celebratory Drink
Based on the classic Champagne cocktail French 75, the Texas 75 is just as bubbly and effervescent as its inspiration. We hope this sweet and lighthearted drink is indicative of a joyful year ahead.
The star of this show is, of course, the Prosecco. This vibrant Italian wine is produced from the Glera grape and in its home country is typically served as a chilled aperitif. For this mixed drink, we recommend Josh Cellar’s Prosecco, a California wine with hints of pear, green apples, and citrus that lend themselves well to layering and with that much flavor, this one can also be enjoyed all on its own.
The Texas 75: Makes 1 cocktail
- 1½ ounces of Texas gin, such as Dripping Springs Gin
- ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
- ¾ ounce simple syrup
- 2 ounces Prosecco
- Lemon or orange peel twist
Pour gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake. Strain the mixture into glass. Top with Prosecco and garnish. Cheers!
For those who prefer their drinks pink, Josh Cellar’s Prosecco Rose is a perfect (and pretty) substitution.

Did You Know?
Not all Prosecco is made equal! There are variations in the amount of bubbles found amongst this expression, ranging from the typical amount we associate with a sparkling wine to none at all. A flat Prosecco is known as a tranquillo.
