Words by Jessi Devenyns Art by Angela Navarro
Last weekend, we brought you the five must-see stops for the East Austin Studio Tour. After experiencing the first EAST weekend, we found a few unexpected gems that we wanted to share. So if you’ve already hit the highlights, try out something unexpected this weekend and discover one of our new favorite artists.
247. Inés Batlló {Gallery}
Using beeswax, resin, graphite, and pigment, Inés harnesses her chosen art supplies to deliver messages about society and our connection with various existential questions. This year she is reflecting on books and people. Playing with various media, she mixes digital and tactile to recreate the relationship that humans have with books. Are they physical entities or digital words on the screen? Perhaps the answer is in Inés’ work.
