Club Pilates East Austin
Ala Bengel, lead instructor
“Every day I work on being the best version of me and bringing out the best version of others,” says Ala Bengel, lead instructor at Club Pilates East Austin. Pilates is the perfect setting for both. Pilates is more than going through the motions; it’s about creating trust and a sense of belonging. Pilates is a lifestyle that allows Ala to combine her passions for people and community with her drive for balance and wellness.
Ala, at 25 years-old, is not your typical instructor. She’s a full-time social worker for Health Occupations Providing Excellence for Workforce Wellness and Resiliency: a grant program designed to prevent burnout within healthcare by promoting wellness and resiliency.
Ala grew up with a very energetic lifestyle ranging from soccer, basketball, and field hockey. While athletics kept her busy, sports also caused an imbalance in her body. Her Pilates journey began while completing her Masters in Social Work. Ala started taking Pilates found not only her core strength return but also a lifelong community. It wasn’t long before Ala received certifications in Pilates, TRX training, Barre, Yoga-sculpt, and Lagree.
Life is about balance. Pilates incorporates control and balance, as well as lengthening, strengthening, and restoration. To Ala, Pilates is the epitome of balance in fitness.
