6 Best Brunches in East Austin
From classic patio spots to vegan fare, the Eastside raises the bar on brunch in Austin.
Words by Deven Wilson Photo by Mica McCook
If anything gets this easygoing city moving on the weekends, it’s brunch. Perfectly timed to greet the late risers with bottomless mimosas and huevos rancheros to bring our denizens back to life, nowhere do the flavors and service shine quite like in East Austin.
Brunch Bird
Like the well-worn softness of a flannel, Brunch Bird balances out the rugged grit of Buzzmill’s latest outpost on the Eastside by challenging the egg dependence found in the brunch scene. Brunch Bird serves up a full menu of vegan and plant-based options, even down to their Bloody Mary. It’s overloaded with bacon, chicken tenders, wings, and a bloody mary mix, and it’s all vegan, naturally.
